Mixed bag of success and controversy for Saved By The Bell stars

Between 1989 and 1993 there wasn’t a child in America who didn’t catch at least one episode of Saved by the Bell. The sitcom was one of the most popular children’s shows of all time.

It began life as a reboot of Good Morning, Miss Bliss and would go on to spawn a pair of spin-offs Saved by the Bell: The College Years and Saved by the Bell: New Class as well as two TV movies.

But what happened to the people who once walked the halls of Bayside High School after their heyday in the early 90s?

Zack Morris (Mark-Paul Gosselaar)

Zack was the character to open each episode by directly addressing the audience. He was a schemer with plenty of charm and while his schemes never quite went to plan, they certainly provided a ton of laughs for the audience. He was the unofficial leader of the group at Bayside High School.

Mark-Paul a busy man

Mark-Paul is still acting today, he’s starred in more than a dozen movies and is currently starring in Fox’s Pitch, a show about Major League Baseball. Mark-Paul plays the lead role of Michael “Mike” Lawson, an experienced catcher whose career is slowly coming to a close.

Kelly Kapowski (Tiffani-Amber Thiessen)

Tiffani-Amber’s Kelly is the central love interest for both Zack and his best friend Slater. In the second season, Zack won Kelly’s heart and would, by the time the show wrapped up, marry her. Kelly was also, somewhat stereotypically, the school’s head cheerleader and all-around goody-goody.
